Highlands & Islands Fire & Rescue Service covers 31,187 sq. kms across northern Scotland, about 40% of the total area of Scotland. It serves a population of around 276,400 people in the Highlands, Orkney, Shetland Islands and Eilean Siar/Western Isles Council areas.
